Sea Lions Steal One
In the Desert
Down nine and buried under a hostile crowd, Oakland didn't blink. Vegas felt this one slide through their fingers in the fourth, and by the final buzzer there was nothing left to grab it back with.
I Had This One Wrong
Let's get that out of the way first. I had Vegas taking this game clean, no sweat — better roster on paper, better rest, and a building that showed up loud. For a stretch it looked like the safe pick. It wasn't.
Oakland doesn't play for style points. They play like every possession owes them something, and Thursday they went and collected. The Sea Lions never got their own lead past six — not once did they run away with this — but they refused to let Vegas run away either. That's the whole story of this game: a team that kept answering, possession after possession, until the home side ran out of timeouts and answers at the same time.
Final gap: two points tighter than the biggest cushion either side built all night. Vegas peaked at plus-nine. Oakland peaked at plus-six. The Sea Lions won by four. Work the math and you'll see it — this one was never comfortable for anybody, and that's exactly how Oakland likes it. Strip away the runs and the two sides even split the clock — 19:54 of possession for Oakland against 20:05 for Vegas. Whatever separation there was, Oakland didn't buy it with extra turns. They bought it with better ones.
The Numbers Underneath It
Box scores tell you who won. These tell you why.
Four Lines That Tell The Truth
Johnny Domer
Thirteen assists. Zero turnovers. In a game that got tight and ugly in the fourth, Domer never gave the ball away once. That's not a stat line — that's a job well done.
Ace Haskins
Not the cleanest efficiency of the night, but somebody had to keep hunting offense when the building got loud, and he never stopped hunting.
Timothy Noah
Efficient scoring, zero artistry, and a team that still lost with him on the floor. Thirty-one points is a headline. It wasn't a plan.
N. Wicked
Zero points, plus-sixteen — the best on-court number in the entire game belongs to a guy who never shot. That's the kind of stat that decides games long after readers forget who scored thirty.

Three For Domer
Final line: 25 points, 13 assists, zero turnovers, and a game ball he earned by never letting the offense stall when Vegas made its runs. Here's what we'd ask him at the mic.
Thirteen assists and not a single turnover in thirty-one minutes, in a game that got tight in the fourth — was that discipline, or did Vegas's defense just never make you pay for anything?
Vegas built a nine-point lead and had the building behind them. What actually changed in that huddle, and whose voice did this team need to hear to answer it?
George Felice was a plus-ten off the bench. Kris Dog and Mike McIvor were both plus-nine or better. That's three Jokers who outplayed their own stars, and Vegas still lost by four with Timothy Noah dropping thirty-one. What does that say about how deep this team actually is when the lights get hot — and are you worried they figure it out before Game 3?
